Nationwide demonstrations to be held during May

The Bangladesh National Party (BNP) has publicly announced its intention to organise a series of nationwide demonstrations on 14 May, 19 May, May 24 and 2 June. Travellers are advised to exercise particular caution and avoid large gatherings on these dates. In Dhaka, the areas of Naya Paltan, Muktangan, Nazrul Islam Avenue, and Press Club areas should be avoided in the event of a BNP demonstration. As this is a countrywide protest travel to other major towns and cities should be carefully considered before being undertaken on these dates.
