FCO advice on rally in Yerevan

A rally is expected to be held in Central Yerevan on 4 July at 7pm focusing on Matenadaran manuscript library at the north end of Mesrop Mashtots Avenue. It is possible that further rallies or marches may take place throughout the city centre, particularly around Freedom/Opera Square and Northern Avenue. The city authorities have stated they have denied permission for the rally to take place. Due to the possible risk of violence, we advise you to exercise caution, listen to local news and avoid any demonstrations and large crowds.
