UNDERGROUND & TRAM SERVICES DISRUPTED BY STRIKE

Subway and tram services in Buenos Aires were disrupted on the 5th November 2009 as transportation workers went on strike. The workers were demanding that the new union they voted to create in January be granted legal status in line with a court ruling that allows for multiple-union representation. The strike is scheduled to last until 0500 local time on 6 November.
