Flight delays as air traffic control relay station experiences interference
27 Mar 2009
On 27 March 2009 aviation officials discovered that a relay station used to control air traffic was experiencing interference from an unknown source, altering its reception capabilities. As a result, authorities chose to delay flight departures by 15 minutes in the eastern zone of Argentina, including at the major international airports Jorge Newberry (SABE/AEP) and Ezeiza International (SAEZ/EZE). Although aviation officials claim that air service has resumed normal operation, passengers continue to report flight delays of up to two hours.
