Farmers to protest across the country

On 9 and 10 December 2008 protests by enraged farmers are scheduled to occur in various parts of Argentina. In the Entre Rios area, tractors and buses will crowd the tunnel that connects the city of Parana with the province of Santa Fe. Later the demonstrators will move to the seat of the government in Santa Fe to conduct a vigil. In Cordoba, protesters gathered at the governor’s house to present a petition. In Santa Fe and La Pampa on 10 December, groups of protesters will march to the houses of each governor. In Buenos Aires, a group will meet in Saladillo during the morning on 10 December at the intersection between routes 205 and 51. In Salliquelo protests are set to occur in the plaza at 2100 local time.
