Although most currencies are accepted, the main currency in circulation is the Euro. See the France or Spain section for further details of exchange rates.
Single European currency (Euro)
The Euro is now the official currency of 12 EU member states (including France and Spain). The first Euro coins and notes were introduced in January 2002 and completely replaced the French Franc on 17 February 2002, and the Spanish Peseta on 28 February 2002. Euro (€) = 100 cents. Notes are in denominations of €500, 200, 100, 50, 20, 10 and 5. Coins are in denominations of €2, 1 and 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1 cents.
There
are no restrictions when entering or exiting the country, but French and
Spanish authorities may carry out formalities on departure.

Andorran banks and bureaux de change will exchange foreign currency.
American Express, Diners Club, MasterCard and Visa are accepted, as well as Eurocheque cards. Check with your credit or debit card company for details of merchant acceptability and other services which may be available.
To avoid additional exchange rate charges, travelers are advised to take traveller's cheques in Euros, Pounds Sterling and US Dollars.
