A bomb attack occurred in the port of Zemmouri in the Boumerdes Province on 9 August 2008. The attack targeted a police station, resulting in a reported eight deaths and at least 19 injuries. An attack in Tizi Ouzou on 03 August 2008 resulted in at least 25 injuries.
