We offer cover for a large number of sports and hazardous activities. To check whether any activity is covered at normal rates, requires an additional premium or is excluded from cover, please use the table below.

Glossary

Big foot skiing or snowblading is skiing on short skis called 'Big foot'. They carry as much risk as normal skiing.

Ski Mountaineering - ascending mountain summits, cols and glacier crossings where the itinerary requires crampons, ice axes and harnesses.

Ski Touring - Ski touring or Ski Safari not amounting to ski mountaineering as defined above.

Black water rafting takes place in under ground streams in the dark. Participants wear wet suits fitted with inflated inner tubes then shoot rapids in fast-flowing rivers in inflatable dinghies. This is also known as Cave tubbing.

Canyoning is travelling down rivers, waterfalls and canyons wearing a life jacket.

Caving - exploring caves and small pot holes, often under water. Also known as Pot holing.

Expeditions - planned journey for specific and/or scientific purposes in remote, hazardous or polar regions.

Heli skiing - skiers are taken by a helicopter to unmarked powder runs in remote areas.

Jet Boating - an organised jet boat ride over high grade rapids; driven by an expert driver seemingly out of control.

Kite Surfing - using the power of a kite to surf on water.

Parapenting/Paragliding - jumping from a cliff attached to an open parachute and gliding and floating to the ground. A cross between hang gliding and parachuting.

Pot holing - exploring caves and small pot holes, often under water. Also known as Caving.

Rap Jumping - abseiling facing forwards.

Ringos - sitting in an inflatable ring being pulled behind a boat.

River Bugging - a cross between canyoning and the water park lazy river.

Zorbing - travelling down a hillside inside an inflatable plastic ball.
