Travelling during pregnancyQuality travel insurance is always essential, but getting the right cover is especially important when you are pregnant.
Many pregnant women travel abroad without any issues or problems. However there are certain factors, and possible pregnancy complications, that must be considered before embarking on your trip.
Pregnancy CoverTravel insurance exclusions will apply, and you must ensure you’ve checked that you are covered for your particular situation. For example, pregnancy related medical conditions will need to be declared to avoid problems in the unlikely event of a claim.
Direct Travel Insurance covers pregnancy or childbirth on all our policies, providing you have fitness to travel and are not expected to give birth within 12 weeks of the end of your trip. So, you would be insured if your expected due date is more than 12 weeks after the date you land back in the UK.
